At New Day Community Development Corporation, we believe a person’s past should not determine the full measure of their future. The Second Chance Job Creation Program is designed to support individuals with criminal justice involvement as they work to rebuild their lives, reenter the workforce, and create a more stable future for themselves and their families.
Formerly incarcerated individuals often face significant barriers to employment, including limited access to training, unstable housing, gaps in work history, and the lasting stigma of a criminal record. These challenges can make it difficult to secure and keep steady work, even for individuals who are ready and willing to move forward.
This program provides targeted workforce support to help participants develop the skills, confidence, and readiness needed for long-term employment. Through training and reintegration support, NDCDC aims to help individuals move from exclusion to opportunity and from instability to self-sufficiency.
The goal of this program is not only to help participants find jobs, but also to help them build sustainable pathways toward personal growth, family stability, and community contribution. By supporting employment and reintegration, NDCDC seeks to reduce recidivism, strengthen households, and open doors to meaningful participation in society.

Workforce Development
Employment and Economics Self Sufficiency

Our program will provide targeted workforce development and employment support designed to help participants build the skills, confidence, experience, and financial readiness needed to achieve long-term economic stability. Through hands-on training, employment opportunities, mentorship, and reintegration support, NDCDC will help individuals move from exclusion to opportunity, from instability to productive employment, and ultimately toward greater self-sufficiency.
Financial and Technology-Based Workforce Pathway
NDCDC will also develop a financial and technology-based workforce pathway for participants with strong computer, mathematics, analytical, or quantitative skills. Through structured training and supervised experience, qualified participants will be introduced to financial markets, investment concepts, risk management, financial analysis, and responsible trading practices. Participants who successfully complete the training and demonstrate the necessary knowledge and discipline may have the opportunity to participate in a supervised trading program using NDCDC capital, subject to appropriate policies, oversight, risk controls, and applicable legal and regulatory requirements.
This financial pathway is intended to provide participants with another avenue for developing valuable technical and financial skills. Rather than focusing solely on short-term employment, NDCDC seeks to equip participants with capabilities that can contribute to longer-term economic advancement, including financial literacy, analytical thinking, technology skills, decision-making, and responsible asset management.
Skilled Trades Training and Workforce Pathway
A central component of this initiative will be the development of NDCDC’s skilled trades pathway. Participants with prior interest in construction, maintenance, repair, or hands-on technical work will be given opportunities to gain experience across multiple areas of skilled trades training and project support.

Where appropriate, participants will also receive additional training to strengthen their existing skills and prepare them for increased responsibility and advancement.
This pathway will serve not only as an employment opportunity but also as a practical workforce-development environment. Participants will gain current, marketable work experience while developing the reliability, teamwork, communication, leadership, and organizational skills necessary to compete successfully in the broader labor market. Our goal is to create a pathway through which individuals can progress from entry-level employment to greater responsibility, increased earnings, and sustainable careers.
The long-term objective is not simply to place individuals in jobs, but to help them build the knowledge, experience, confidence, and financial capacity necessary to remain employed, advance professionally, and participate more fully in the economy. As NDCDC expands its operations, we intend to expand these opportunities as well, creating a growing cycle of employment, training, reinvestment, and community economic development.
