MEN AND WOMEN'S SHELTER PROGRAM

At New Day Community Development Corporation, we are committed to supporting men and women experiencing homelessness by helping meet urgent needs with dignity, care, and practical assistance. Our Men and Women’s Shelter Program is designed to serve individuals living in shelters who need essential items, personal care support, and a pathway toward greater stability.

Life in a shelter often comes with challenges that go far beyond a place to sleep. Many residents are working to recover from crisis, loss, trauma, unemployment, or other hardships while trying to maintain basic daily needs. This program helps bridge that gap by providing items and services that promote comfort, hygiene, confidence, and human dignity.

Through this program, NDCDC helps provide bedding, clothing, intimate wear, and personal hygiene items to shelter residents. We also support access to haircuts, shaves, hair treatments, and seasonal items such as socks, gloves, and hats, especially during colder months. These services may seem simple, but they can make a meaningful difference in how a person feels, presents themselves, and moves forward.

In addition to meeting immediate needs, this program supports long-term stability by connecting shelter residents to referrals for job training, education, and housing resources. Our goal is not only to help individuals get through a difficult season, but also to help them take practical steps toward employment, independence, and permanent housing.

We believe every person deserves to be treated with respect, especially in times of hardship. By addressing both the immediate and longer-term needs of shelter residents, NDCDC seeks to help individuals move from crisis toward stability with greater confidence and hope.
