TUITION SCHOLARSHIP ASSISTANCE PROGRAM

A scholarship empowers and acknowledges a young person's potential. We believe in the power of education and aim to support the next generation of leaders by offering annual scholarships and need-based grants to students from diverse backgrounds facing financial challenges. We do not discriminate based on race, color, national origin, sex, or disability in our scholarship programs.

Our goal is to reduce their educational costs and provide access to secondary and postsecondary opportunities for students who consistently achieve top grades, show potential for success, and seek an excellent education in an environment that values individuals for who they are and encourages self-reliance. These annual scholarships will be awarded to citizens and legal residents of the United States and the District of Columbia who are eighteen (18) years or older and are high school, undergraduate, graduate, or community college students.

Because these scholarships are highly competitive, applicants must demonstrate outstanding academic achievement, active community involvement, and leadership qualities; maintain a minimum GPA of 3.75; have significant financial need; and be accepted to or already enrolled in an accredited prep school, college, or university.

Scholarship recipients must choose electives in Finance, Law, Medicine, or Technology and graduate with a degree, laying the foundation for a successful career. Before the end of each semester, the NDCDC Scholarship Committee will review students' grades and progress toward their degrees to decide whether to renew the scholarship. The committee may also revoke the scholarship during the academic year based on similar reviews.

The scholarship will be revoked if a student fails to complete all required courses or does not maintain a GPA of at least 3.75. These awards cover tuition, room and board, academic fees, books, and curriculum-required materials not paid for by other financial aid, such as loans, grants, or scholarships.

A key principle of this scholarship program is that every student, parent, or legal guardian should contribute as much as possible to their education, helping graduates avoid substantial student loan debt, which can affect their personal and professional lives, hinder wealth-building, and limit their ability to pass assets to future generations.

HOLIDAY TURKEY PROGRAM

New Day Community Development Corporation is committed to making the holiday season a little brighter for those who are facing financial difficulties. As part of this effort, the organization will organize a holiday turkey giveaway, providing free turkeys to individuals and families in need, particularly around Thanksgiving. This initiative is designed to help ensure that everyone, regardless of their financial situation, has the opportunity to enjoy a festive meal with loved ones during the holiday season.

For many families, the holidays can be a time of stress and uncertainty, especially when it comes to putting food on the table. With the rising costs of living and the financial strain that often comes with the holiday season, access to a traditional holiday meal can become a luxury that some simply can't afford. New Day Community Development Corporation understands the impact this has on families and is dedicated to alleviating that burden by providing nourishment and comfort.

The turkey giveaway is more than just about food; it's about fostering a sense of community, compassion, and togetherness. By offering a free turkey, the organization hopes to provide not only a meal but also a sense of dignity and hope to those who may be struggling. It’s an opportunity for neighbors to come together and share in the spirit of giving, supporting each other during a time that is meant for celebration and gratitude.

The program will focus on reaching out to low-income families, elderly individuals, single parents, and other vulnerable populations who may face challenges in accessing or affording holiday meals. Volunteers and donors will play a key role in making this initiative possible by coming together to collect, package, and distribute turkeys to those in need.

At New Day Community Development Corporation, we have seen firsthand how difficult it can be for people to make ends meet, especially during special occasions like Thanksgiving. That’s why we’re deeply honored and grateful to be in a position to help. This program is an expression of our commitment to supporting our community with kindness, generosity, and care, making sure that everyone has the chance to celebrate the season with warmth, togetherness, and the joy of sharing a meal.

Through this effort, we aim not only to provide a meal but also to remind that, even in times of struggle, there is always a community ready to lend a helping hand. Together, we can create a season of joy, compassion, and hope for those who need it most.

WINTER COAT PROGRAM

New Day Community Development Corporation is dedicated to supporting individuals and families in need, particularly during the colder months, by providing warm clothing and essential winter gear. Through this initiative, we will organize a winter clothing giveaway, focusing on items such as winter coats, gloves, hats, scarves, and other essential clothing to ensure safety and comfort in harsh weather conditions. The giveaway will target low-income families, vulnerable populations, and individuals who may lack the financial means to purchase these essential winter items.

In many communities, the winter months can pose serious risks, especially for those living in poverty or facing financial hardships. Without proper clothing, individuals are exposed to dangerous conditions that can lead to health issues, including hypothermia and frostbite. Recognizing these risks, New Day Community Development Corporation is committed to alleviating the hardships faced by those who are most vulnerable. The clothing drive will help to ensure that families and individuals are better prepared for winter, allowing them to face the season with greater security and warmth.

The corporation's effort is not only about providing clothing, but also about fostering a sense of care and community. The winter clothing giveaway is an expression of NDCDC's core values, serving those in need and uplifting others through compassion and generosity. Volunteers and donors will come together to collect, sort, and distribute the clothing, making the event a community effort.

In addition to meeting immediate needs, this initiative reflects our ongoing commitment to creating lasting positive change by supporting those who are struggling to make ends meet. The clothing giveaway provides an opportunity to connect with families in need, build relationships, and offer support that goes beyond material items.

Through this event, NDCDC strives not only to provide warmth and protection but also to offer hope and comfort during a time of year that can be particularly difficult for those in challenging circumstances. By showing care and extending a helping hand, we reinforce our mission to uplift the community, ensuring that no one faces the harshness of winter alone.

ADOPT A SCHOOL PROGRAM

NDCDC's’ Adopt a School program is a community-driven initiative that supports local schools, particularly those in underserved or underfunded areas. Through this partnership, we work directly with schools to provide essential educational resources to students across all grade levels. These resources include textbooks, notebooks, stationery, learning tools, and other materials specific to each grade’s curriculum.

The core mission of this program is to bridge the gap for students who may lack access to the basic tools they need to succeed academically. By providing these critical supplies, NDCDC aims to remove barriers to learning, ensuring that every student, regardless of their background or socioeconomic status, has what they need to thrive in the classroom.

The program goes beyond just supplying materials. NDCDC collaborates closely with school administrators and teachers to assess the unique needs of each grade level. This ensures that the supplies are not only relevant but also aligned with the educational objectives for that particular year. Whether it's specific textbooks for a science class, a set of notebooks for writing, or tools for hands-on learning, the goal is to provide a comprehensive support system tailored to each school’s specific needs.

By empowering students with the resources they need, the Adopt a School program is not just about providing supplies; it's about fostering an environment where academic achievement is within reach for all students. This initiative is designed to improve educational outcomes, increase student engagement, and build a stronger foundation for learning, thereby positively impacting the entire community.

Through this program, NDCDC hopes to inspire a sense of hope and possibility for students, teachers, and parents alike, while promoting a spirit of community support and collaboration that extends beyond the classroom.

SCHOOL BACKPACK PROGRAM

The New Day Community Development Corporation’s School Backpack Giveaway Program is designed to provide students, especially those from low-income families, with the tools they need to succeed academically. Every year, as the school year begins, we distribute free backpacks filled with essential school supplies to ensure that all students, regardless of their family’s financial situation, are fully equipped for the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead.

Education is a powerful tool for lifting individuals and families out of poverty. Still, for many students, the simple act of obtaining necessary school supplies can become a significant financial strain. Our goal is to alleviate this burden, helping ensure that every child has the materials they need to excel in their studies without the added stress of lacking access to basic supplies.

The backpacks we provide are filled with a range of essential items, including notebooks, pens, pencils, folders, binders, and highlighters. For students who need additional support, we also offer calculators, rulers, and other specialized tools, as well as uniforms in some cases, to ensure they have what they need to participate fully in their education. By supplying these critical resources, we give students a strong foundation to start their school year with confidence and the ability to focus on their studies, rather than worrying about how they will afford the materials they need.

This program is about more than just providing supplies; it’s about promoting equal access to education and ensuring that every child has the opportunity to succeed. In a world where the divide between wealthier students and those from lower-income families can impact academic success, the NDCDC backpack giveaway helps level the playing field. We aim to create an environment where all students, regardless of their background, have the same chance to learn, grow, and thrive.

Additionally, the program fosters a sense of community support and collective care. It’s a reminder that we all play a role in helping one another succeed. The program brings together volunteers, local businesses, and organizations, creating a network of people who care about the future of our children. These backpacks don’t just represent school supplies; they represent a shared commitment to education, to helping children achieve their dreams, and to building stronger, more compassionate communities.

The NDCDC School Backpack Program is not just about starting the school year right; it's about making sure that every student, regardless of their financial circumstances, has the support and resources they need to succeed in school and beyond. By removing some of the economic and logistical challenges of back-to-school preparations, we aim to allow students to focus on what truly matters: their education. Together, we are helping to create a brighter future for every child, one backpack at a time.

PROVIDING FAMILY MEALS PROGRAM

NDCDC is proud to partner with Feeding America, a nationwide network dedicated to fighting hunger and alleviating food insecurity. Together, we will work to provide essential food relief to families facing hunger, particularly in communities affected by natural disasters and other humanitarian crises within the regions where we live and work. Our collaboration with Feeding America will ensure that those hardest hit by these devastating events have access to the basic necessity of food, offering them not only sustenance but also hope and support in times of dire need.

Natural disasters, whether hurricanes, floods, wildfires, or other emergencies, often leave communities in ruins, disrupting not only infrastructure but also families' ability to access food. In these moments of crisis, the need for immediate food assistance becomes even more urgent, as families struggle to recover and rebuild their lives. By partnering with Feeding America, NDCDC can respond swiftly, delivering food and essential supplies to those affected and ensuring that no one goes hungry in the wake of disaster.

Feeding America operates an extensive network of food banks, pantries, and meal programs across the country, and through this partnership, NDCDC will tap into this network to provide immediate relief to families in need. Whether it’s through emergency food distribution, mobile food pantries, or support for community-based food programs, our joint efforts will ensure that families have access to nutritious meals when they need them most.

We recognize that sharing basic necessities of life, such as food, is one of the most impactful ways we can give back to our communities. When a family is grappling with the destruction of their home, the loss of loved ones, or the uncertainty of their future, access to food becomes more than just a matter of survival; it becomes a lifeline, a symbol of compassion, and a reminder that they are not alone in their struggle.

At NDCDC, we believe that no one should ever have to face hunger, especially in the midst of a crisis. By supporting Feeding America’s mission, we are not only providing immediate relief but also working to create long-term solutions to hunger. Whether the need is for short-term emergency assistance or ongoing support to help families get back on their feet, our partnership with Feeding America is focused on delivering both immediate relief and sustainable solutions to hunger.

Through this partnership, we aim to foster a stronger, more resilient community where families facing hardship can find the support they need to recover and thrive. Sharing life’s necessities, particularly food, is one of the simplest and most powerful ways we can show care and compassion for one another. We are committed to doing everything in our power to ensure that in times of disaster or crisis, families have access to the nourishment they need to rebuild, recover, and move forward with hope. Together with Feeding America, we are committed to fighting hunger and supporting our communities in times of greatest need.

MIDNIGHT RUN PROGRAM

NDCDC is proud to partner with Midnight Run of New York, an impactful organization dedicated to providing vital relief to homeless individuals in New York City. Midnight Run organizes and coordinates regular relief missions, bringing together volunteers from diverse backgrounds, including churches, ministries, synagogues, schools, and civic groups, to provide direct support to people experiencing homelessness.

Through collaboration with Midnight Run, NDCDC will facilitate the distribution of food, clothing, and personal care items to individuals often overlooked by society. Homelessness is a persistent and growing issue, especially in large urban centers like New York City, where thousands of men and women live without shelter or the necessities that many take for granted. These individuals often face daily challenges, including the harsh elements, hunger, illness, and social isolation. Midnight Run’s mission is to offer compassion and care to these people, ensuring they know they are not forgotten.

As part of this partnership, NDCDC will help mobilize volunteers and resources to reach those living on the streets, providing immediate relief and support. Volunteers will distribute essential items, such as warm clothing, socks, hats, gloves, toiletries, and hygiene kits, that are critical to helping individuals maintain dignity and health in harsh conditions. In addition to these material needs, our outreach efforts will also provide food and water to ensure no one goes hungry on the streets.

Our joint efforts with Midnight Run extend beyond simply meeting immediate needs; we also aim to foster a sense of community and hope for people who are often invisible to the rest of society. In addition to the tangible support we provide, the volunteers from NDCDC and Midnight Run will offer emotional and spiritual support, letting people know they are valued, cared for, and not forgotten. For many individuals experiencing homelessness, just having someone show they care can make a world of difference and offer a glimmer of hope in a dark, uncertain situation.

Through this partnership, we aim to address not just the physical needs of homeless individuals but also the emotional and spiritual needs that are often overlooked. We believe that every person, regardless of their circumstances, deserves to be treated with dignity and respect, and that no one should have to endure homelessness alone.

Together, we hope to make a tangible difference in the lives of homeless individuals in New York City by offering them the resources, care, and compassion they need to begin rebuilding their lives. We are committed to walking alongside these individuals and showing them that, no matter how challenging their circumstances, there is always a community of support ready to lend a hand.

NO KID HUNGRY PROGRAM

No Kid Hungry is a national initiative dedicated to ending child hunger and ensuring that every child has access to nutritious, life-sustaining food. With millions of children facing food insecurity, the program works tirelessly to address this issue through a variety of strategic efforts.

It partners with schools, community organizations, and local governments to provide essential resources, such as school meal programs, summer meal initiatives, breakfast and after-school programs, and emergency food assistance. The goal is not just to provide short-term relief but to create long-lasting solutions that ensure children have reliable access to healthy meals every day.

NDCDC is proud to support No Kid Hungry, a national initiative dedicated to ending child hunger and making sure every child has access to the nutritious food they need to grow, learn, and thrive. Across the country, millions of children face food insecurity every day, and this program is committed to helping address that need with care, urgency, and compassion.

Through this initiative, NDCDC will help support efforts that connect children and families to reliable meals through schools, community organizations, and local partners. These efforts may include school meal programs, summer meal initiatives, breakfast and after-school programs, and emergency food assistance. The goal is not only to provide immediate relief, but also to help create lasting access to healthy meals throughout the year.

Child hunger affects far more than a child’s physical health. It can impact concentration, confidence, energy, and overall well-being. When a child does not know where their next meal is coming from, it becomes harder for them to focus in school, participate fully in daily life, and simply enjoy being a child. No Kid Hungry exists to help change that reality by supporting programs that remove barriers to food access and bring stability to children and families in need.

Through our support of this initiative, NDCDC hopes to stand alongside children who are facing difficult circumstances and help ensure they do not have to carry the burden of hunger alone. We believe that every child deserves the chance to sit down to a healthy meal, feel nourished, and have the opportunity to thrive with dignity and hope.

Together, we aim to help create stronger communities where children are supported, families are strengthened, and no child is left to struggle with hunger. By helping provide access to food, we are helping provide the foundation for a brighter future, one child at a time.

SENIOR CITIZEN’S ASSISTED LIVING PROGRAM

At NDCDC, our commitment to supporting seniors is unwavering and lifelong. Seniors represent a treasure trove of wisdom and experience, having lived through decades of history and change, and their stories and lessons are invaluable. We believe it is our responsibility to ensure that our elderly population is treated with the respect, care, and dignity they deserve, especially as they age and face the challenges that come with getting older.

Our program is specifically designed to engage, support, and uplift seniors, especially those who are elderly or disabled, by helping them age with grace and dignity in nursing homes, memory care units, and assisted living facilities. We understand the emotional and physical toll that aging can take, and we are here to ensure that seniors can live their later years in comfort, surrounded by care, and free from financial worries.

One of the most heartbreaking realities for many families is the financial strain of long-term care. Assisted living, memory care, and nursing homes often come with high costs, and unfortunately, these services are not covered by Medicare or traditional health insurance. This leaves many families in a difficult situation, especially when seniors lack sufficient income, personal savings, home equity, disability benefits, or private health insurance to cover these expenses. For families who are already stretched thin, the prospect of paying for the care their loved ones need can be overwhelming.

Recognizing this gap, NDCDC is dedicated to providing financial assistance to seniors in need, particularly those who are struggling to cover the costs of assisted living or memory care. We aim to ease the financial burden for those who are suffering from conditions like Alzheimer’s, Dementia, or other debilitating ailments, as well as for low-income individuals who do not have long-term care insurance or sufficient resources to pay for care. Through our program, we offer financial support to cover some or all of the costs associated with housing, medical care, and personal support, ensuring that seniors can live with dignity, safety, and comfort.

Through this program, NDCDC hopes to bring both peace of mind and joy to seniors, making their later years more comfortable and fulfilling. By supporting their emotional, physical, and financial well-being, we aim to create an environment where they can feel valued, cared for, and celebrated. The wisdom of our seniors is a gift, and we believe that they deserve nothing less than the best care and attention as they continue their journey.

Our commitment to seniors is not just about providing financial support; it’s about honoring them, enriching their lives, and ensuring they can live out their days in comfort and dignity. We hope to make a lasting difference in the lives of seniors and their families, contributing to a future where aging is met with respect, kindness, and the highest standard of care.

MEN AND WOMEN'S SHELTER PROGRAM

Beyond the bare essentials needed for survival, individuals residing in shelters face a range of challenges that require specialized support, challenges that often cannot be addressed without the help of charitable organizations. At NDCDC, we are committed to providing a wide array of services and resources to men and women living in shelters, ensuring their immediate needs are met and their dignity is preserved during a difficult time in their lives.

Our goal is not only to provide the bare necessities but to offer the tools and resources that promote both physical and emotional well-being. By meeting these needs, we help residents regain their sense of self-worth and take steps toward rebuilding their lives. Through our support program, NDCDC arranges for shelter residents to receive a variety of essential items that contribute to their comfort and hygiene. This includes bedding, clothing, personal hygiene items, intimate wear, and more.

We also offer services that focus on improving personal appearance and self-esteem, such as hair treatments, haircuts, and shaves, as well as items like socks, gloves, and hats, which are especially important during colder months. These small but meaningful acts help individuals feel more human and less stigmatized, which is critical as they work toward reintegrating into society. Feeling clean, well-groomed, and cared for can provide an emotional lift, empowering shelter residents to face the challenges ahead with renewed strength and confidence.

In addition to providing necessities, we support the broader goal of helping individuals regain their independence. Through referrals to job training, educational opportunities, and housing resources, we aim to guide shelter residents toward stable, self-sufficient lives. We understand that the road to stability can be long, and we are here to provide the encouragement they need to transition successfully into permanent housing and employment.

Ultimately, NDCDC is not just about meeting immediate needs, but about helping individuals regain their independence and dignity so they can build a future free from the hardships of homelessness. By offering these essential services and resources, we hope to make a lasting impact on the lives of shelter residents, helping them move from crisis to stability and toward a more hopeful and independent future.

SECOND CHANCE JOB CREATION PROGRAM

Individuals with criminal justice involvement represent one of the most marginalized and disadvantaged groups in our society. Often facing unique challenges, such as limited access to education, unstable housing, and a lack of employment opportunities, these individuals are disproportionately at risk of ongoing hardship. Despite the obstacles they face, many of these individuals possess untapped potential, resilience, and a desire to turn their lives around. However, without support and the right opportunities, their chances of success in rebuilding their lives are significantly diminished.

At NDCDC, we deeply understand the power of second chances. Everyone, regardless of their past, deserves an opportunity to start anew. With this in mind, we have developed a program to help formerly incarcerated individuals successfully reintegrate into society. Our initiative is designed to provide the tools, resources, and support individuals need to re-enter the workforce, overcome the stigma that often follows them, and gain a competitive edge in today’s economy.

Through targeted workforce training, we hope to help individuals not only secure stable employment but also build the skills and confidence needed to succeed in the long term. Our program offers a pathway for them to pursue the lives they envision, free from the limitations of their past mistakes. Beyond simply finding a job, we are committed to empowering participants to break the cycle of incarceration and create a future filled with promise, purpose, and the potential for positive change.

Ultimately, NDCDC strives to make a meaningful impact on the lives of formerly incarcerated individuals by enabling them to contribute positively to their families, communities, and society as a whole. By providing the right support, we aim to equip them with the tools to overcome barriers and unlock opportunities previously out of reach. In doing so, we hope to foster a ripple effect of transformation, as individuals given a second chance go on to inspire and uplift others, creating a lasting legacy of change.

HOSPITAL EMERGENCY ROOM VISIT PROGRAM

New Day Community Development Corporation is deeply committed to supporting individuals in times of crisis, especially in environments such as hospital emergency rooms, where stress, uncertainty, and emotional strain are often at their peak. Recognizing the urgent need for comfort and sustenance during medical emergencies, the organization’s food distribution initiative provides essential nourishment to patients, families, and healthcare staff during some of their most challenging moments.

Hospitals, particularly emergency rooms, are places where people find themselves under extreme stress, whether they are facing a personal health crisis, supporting a loved one, or working long, demanding hours in healthcare. In these high-pressure environments, hunger is often overlooked. New Day Community Development Corporation seeks to address this by providing sandwiches, snacks, and beverages to those who may be too distracted or overwhelmed to think about food. By offering these simple yet essential items, the organization helps alleviate one of the basic concerns in times of crisis: hunger.

The program is designed to serve a broad range of people who may not have the time, resources, or energy to seek food during an emergency. This includes patients awaiting treatment, families anxiously supporting loved ones, and healthcare staff tirelessly working to provide care. By offering food and beverages in these critical areas, the initiative provides comfort, sustenance, and a brief moment of relief to those in need.

The service not only addresses physical hunger but also serves as a small act of compassion amid difficult circumstances. For many, having a caring presence in such a stressful environment can make a profound difference. Whether it’s a sandwich offered to a worried parent, a warm cup of coffee handed to a doctor on a long shift, or a simple snack provided to a patient awaiting their subsequent treatment, this initiative brings a sense of care and community support when it is needed most.

New Day Community Development Corporation is driven by a mission to serve and uplift people in their time of need, especially in moments of distress. By distributing food in emergency rooms at local hospitals, the organization not only ensures individuals have access to nourishment but also demonstrates its broader commitment to the community's well-being. This initiative aims to provide both physical sustenance and emotional comfort, helping ease the burden on individuals and families facing challenging, often uncertain situations.

In a hospital setting, where everything can feel out of control, New Day Community Development Corporation hopes to offer a small but meaningful gesture of kindness. By addressing the basic need for food, the organization seeks to bring a sense of humanity, warmth, and connection to a space that can often feel impersonal and overwhelming. This program reflects the organization’s broader mission to extend compassion and show that, even in moments of crisis, no one has to go through it alone.
